I'm a tattooer originally from Detroit Michigan, I relocated to the Ohio Valley Halloween of 04.
My Customers always ask, "So why did you move to the valley?".
It started when the owner of Hot Rod ("Sweet Chuck") made a trip to Michigan to get tattooed by Jeff Zuck, i was working with Jeff at the time and during Chuck's appointment, he and i talked and hit it off really well. He and I continued to bump into each other at tattoo conventions and such. During that time i had made a move to Grand Rapids Michigan and went to work at Magnum Tattooing, business was slow for me being the new guy at that shop, So Chuck Invited me down to Hot Rod for a week to be a guest artist. I took him up on the offer, and was glad i did! I've Tattooed at numerous shops and Hot Rod is by Far one of the Cleanist, Most Artistic, Professional & well ran shops in the COUNTRY. After spending a week with the crew at Hot Rod i felt right at home. I always considered myself kind of a "Surburban Redneck". I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, and was one of those guy's driving around town in a giant Chevy truck on 44's, waiting for the weekend to go Muddin!
Hot Rod is definitely the best of both Worlds for me! My dream was always to be able to work at a shop that specialized in Custom work and still be able to raise my kids in the country. Until i came to Hot Rod I didnt think that would be possible. Now I'm in the Country livin' the Dream, just 10 Minutes away from a KickAss Tattoo Shop in Martins Ferry, Ohio( right across the river from Wheeling, WV.
